Why do we only have parties for each other when one of us gets married, pregnant, has a birthday, or retires? What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants, and shopping, lunching and traveling girlfriends? Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake!

A Love Story...

When we met it was like a dream:
A beautiful young lady walking up to me.
With a smile we made a connection
That would send us into a life long direction.
It was funny, the time we shared,
Never really thought, never really cared.
We were too busy being kids at heart
Too busy to think wed ever be apart.
I never understood what I really had
And that day came, oh was I sad.
I shed many tears as I walked away
Then she moved on towards her wedding day.
Week after week, month after month, year after year
I wondered why it was, why was I so scared.
Maybe I was too young or maybe I didn't care.
What ever it was, it still haunts me after all these years.
We moved on with our lives and never really talked again
But I always wondered where she had been.
It's choices we make in life to do what seems right
But I often wondered, should I have put up a bigger fight?
I thought I lost what I never really had
Then a letter arrived from her
It was a wish, a hopeless desire,
Then flash -- she was walking up to me, just like a dream.
I was not alone when we finally met
She was missing me just as I was missing her.
A thought never unheard and feeling never missed.
All of a sudden I felt pure bliss.
I never understood what we had
Until that day I held her again.
She's a part of my life, a part of my soul

Once upon a time, in the land of my dream

Araw ng Kagitingan!

Araw ng Kagitingan (English:"Day of Valour") is a national holiday in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan during World War II. It falls annually on April 9, although in 2009 President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo moved it to April 6 in order to create a long weekend.

History

At dawn on April 9, 1942 against the orders of Generals Douglas MacArthur and Jonathan Wainwright, Major General Edward P. King, Jr., commanding Luzon Force, Bataan, Philippine Islands, surrendered more than 76,000 (67,000 Filipinos, 1,000 Chinese Filipinos, and 11,796 Americans) starving and disease-ridden men.
The majority of the prisoners of war were immediately robbed of their keepsakes and belongings and subsequently forced to endure a 90-mile (140 km) march in deep dust over vehicle-broken macadam roads and crammed into rail cars to captivity at Camp O'Donnell. En route, thousands died from dehydration, heat prostration, untreated wounds, and wanton execution.
Those few who were lucky enough to travel on trucks to San Fernando would still have to endure more than 25 additional miles of marching. Prisoners were beaten randomly and often denied promised food and water. Those who fell behind were usually executed or left to die; the sides of the roads became littered with dead bodies and those moaning for assistance.
On the Bataan Death March, approximately 54,000 of the 72,000 prisoners reached their destination. The death toll of the march is difficult to assess because thousands of captives were able to escape from their guards. All told, approximately 5,000-10,000 Filipino and 600-650 American prisoners of war died before they could reach Camp O'Donnell.

Jesus, thank you for dying for our sins on the cross. Father, what was done to you was reprehensible, but we know that it was necessary and that you gave yourself willingly, paying the price for our sins. Thank you for your Word:

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 3:23 …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…

God, none of us deserve to spend eternity with you, but you gave your Son to us as a sacrifice for our sins…

Romans 5:6-11 ⁶ For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. ⁷ For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. ⁸ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. ¹⁰ For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. ¹¹ And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Jesus, today we remember your death on the Cross and we celebrate the victory that you won three days later! Thank you for the gift of Salvation!! Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus. We love you.

Here I am, good and gentle Jesus,kneeling before you. With great fervor I pray and ask you to instill in me genuine convictions of faith, hope and love, with true sorrow for my sins and a firm resolve to amend them. While I contemplate your five wounds with great love and compassion, I remember the words which the prophet David long ago put on your lips: 

"They have pierced my hands and my feet, I can count all my bones."

Heavenly Father; in the holy name of your Son Jesus, crucified for my sins, and in the Love of the Holy Spirit, I come very humbly before you, with sorrow for my sins. Through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, which I live as I receive Him in the Holy Eucharist. 
Lord Jesus crucified; I humbly speak to you, in the Presence of Mary our Blessed Mother. I acknowledge that you suffered so much for me and for all, and that we are indebted to you forever. 

Lord Jesus; I appreciate very much your sufferings for me and for the rest of humanity. 
I thank you for saving me through your crushing pain, through your many wounds, through your tiredness and agony and through your Precious Blood shed with so much pain and love for us; through your difficulty to breath, through your sweat and tears, through your merciful patience, through every effort that you made and through your total offering for my sins and for the sins of the whole world.  

Lord I complain sometimes when I have a little misfortune, a wound or when I am sick or tired, rejected, despised or prosecuted. But you were covered through your entire body with painful wounds;  you were pierced with pain by the crown of thorns, you were stripped of your flesh by the scourging, you were insulted with terrible blasphemies, you were spat upon, you were humiliated, you were inflicted new wounds upon your wounded shoulder by the crushing weight of the cross, you were inflicted more wounds upon your wounds by the brutal stripping of your garments, you were pierced painfully by the nails on the cross, you were hanged upon the cross to bleed painfully to death, you suffered asphyxiation as you found it very painful to breathe, and yet your physical agony was only part of your suffering compared to your spiritual agony because you are God, and your holy soul was sorrowful unto death as you surrendered your life in exchange for our eternal life. 

You saw the ingratitude of men for your great sacrifice, and you suffered for the pride of our sins, for the aggressiveness of those whom you created with so much love, for the hatred of men who always receive all your love if only they come to you. 
My Lord Jesus crucified, I come humbly before you, everlasting fountain of healing and life, Powerful source of our Resurrection, food for our souls in the Holy Eucharist, eternal refuge of Divine Light, gate to the Majesty and Glory of the Father and our only hope and salvation. 

Divine Merciful Lord, I pray and beseech on behalf of all humanity for your Mercy  and compassion, for your healing and blessings and for your Salvation.  
Oh Precious treasure from Heaven, you who are hidden to the proud, fill my heart with humility and purity that I may be worthy to receive the promises of everlasting life in your Glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.  

Lord into your Sacred Heart I place my heart united to all my needs and desires, 
I present humbly  my petitions, please deign to listen to my plea, embrace me with your love, respond to my soul, look at me your child who comes attracted by your love.

Many songs have passed my precious time
But none of them have touched this heart of mine
Except one that always plays in the wind
And put melody on my life
You are the music of my heart
The signal that sets my life to start
The melody that illuminate my day
And rhythm that colors my sky
I know this sweet sound wouldn’t last
And this moment will be put into past
Till the music be played with discord strings
Till there’s no more notes that sings
The love fades out and shrivels
Now in this corner I am crying
The sweet sound is still playing
As I listen to my heart singing
And I will always remember
That you are the reason why my heart’s hurting
